Ruth Nzioka inspiring stories, Kenyan glory

To say that there are specific bible verses that are better than others would be a lie. As a Kenyan bible verses are significant and on top depending on what circumstance you are in, whether happy or sad. That said I will pick a few that have I have come to own and live by.

  1. John 3:16 – God’s unfailing love

Kenyan bible verses

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

I know cliche’ right? I don’t think so. This verse holds a much talked about true which is more precious than gold. If this verse missed from the bible I really don’t think there would be a point of being a Christian. Without this verse we would all be the walking dead for our destiny was one, death, only a matter of time. The fact that God gave us His one and only begotten Son means that we are redeemed and can actually live without fear of tomorrow. For He came to give us life and life in abundance, John 10:10.Heaven can be my and your home if we only believe and accept the Son of God, Jesus Christ, John 14:6.

  1. Psalms 23 – The Lord ever present to us

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

I love this chapter because it displays God’s relationship with us in each and every single day of our life. It starts by assuring us God is our provider in all things and we shall never being lack. It proceeds to say in our low moments He will be there ready to restore us. When we say yes to Him and His leading He will guide us into the right paths and even as we go through tough times He shall be there for us, each moment. When we go astray or far off He will be good enough to bring us back home with His staff.

In the moments all we see around us are enemies of all kind trying to kill us or our dreams, In the midst of that same turmoil He says He will provide you with an opportunity that will make you shine before your enemies.

I love the ending because it acknowledges our shortcomings as humans and the many times we can sin against Him. Even then He promises that His mercy is on us each day.

  1. Jeremiah 17:7-8 Trusting in God

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

What have you placed your trust in? For some it’s money, others their family. Well the Lord warns against placing our trust in men and in fact curses one who does.

For me what intrigues me in this specific verse is how the God of this universe tells us to trust in Him in all times and most of those times trust me don’t make sense. An interesting twist is introduced when He says such will not feel the drought or heat of this life.

The Lord wants us to know even when we trust in Him, it does not mean we will not be faced by some pretty tough situations. We will. Even when it will not make sense just do He says. He will keep us secure. Well thank God, God is trustworthy and if He says He will, He does right? Otherwise this would be a pretty big gamble. Our trust and confidence in Him will not and never will be disappointed. One question though, do you believe this?

  1. Psalms 35 A prayer against our enemies

I will not quote the text here as it is pretty long. Kindly read through it. What is it about? Do you have any enemies at your work place, home, estate, school…well here is a hearty prayer to God asking Him to deal with them on your behalf. Before you go ahead to start proclaiming fire, there is a disclaimer.

I believe one should use this text after observing the following:

  1. a) Must first forgive them for trespassing against you, from your heart (Matthew 18:35) so that the Lord can forgive you too and hear you (Matthew 6:14-15).
  2. b) Love them and bless them for all they do to you (Matthew 5:44).

This two verse observed in obedience and sincerely then can proceed to pray Psalms 35 to all those who are opposing you and you can be sure God will be listening and act on your behalf.

  1. Psalms 91 – God’s protection

I will also not include the full text here kindly read through it. Of all the verses that I have read the message of God’s protection has not spoken loudly to me as in this chapter.

God’s protection is fully analyzed and displayed and one cannot help but be glad if the Lord God is their protector. Truly God does not spare anything to protect His own. I love how He finishes by granting all those who love Him honour, long life and His salvation.

It would be unrealistic not to mention that this promises are founded on us having a relationship with Him. This relationship is through Jesus Christ, John 14:6.Kinda like, if you want His things then you must follow His guidelines and rules. This are not burdensome (Matthew 11:30). The very first condition thus is captured in Romans 10: 8 – 10, where God requires us to accept His begotten Son Jesus Christ into our lives as our personal savior. It is more like accepting God’s love for you as displayed in John 3:16.
